All Crushed Rock
Crushed rock is the layer underneath everything that lasts. Driveway bases, shed slabs, drainage runs, concrete mixes, paver bedding — get this layer right and the surface above it stays where you put it. Get it wrong and you're doing the job twice.
We deliver crushed rock across Melbourne by the cubic meter from our Altona yard, and we source across Victoria rather than from a single quarry, so we can match the grade to the job.
Which grade of crushed rock for which job?
20mm Crushed Rock is the coarse end — the choice for larger drainage projects, concrete work and heavy-duty ground cover where strength matters. 5mm Crusher Dust is the fine end, used as paver bedding, pathway top dressing and joint filling; it compacts to a smooth, hard finish. Most driveway and paving jobs use both: a coarse crushed rock base with a fine bedding layer over it.
How much crushed rock do I need?
For a driveway base, work on 100–150mm compacted depth. One cubic meter covers roughly 8 square meters at 125mm. Bear in mind crushed rock compacts by around 20 percent, so order a little over your calculated volume — our calculator already allows for this.

Crushed rock Class 3 20mm is a versatile roadbase product suited to general sub-base and fill applications, offering a more economical alternative to Class 2 where engineered load-bearing strength isn't required.

Crushed rock Class 2 20mm is a high-quality roadbase engineered to Australian standard specifications for pavement and sub-base construction, offering superior compaction and load-bearing strength.

20mm Scoria is a coarser grade of lightweight red volcanic rock, well suited to larger-scale drainage work and decorative garden applications where a chunkier texture is preferred.

7mm Scoria is a lightweight, porous red volcanic rock, prized in garden beds and drainage applications for its excellent water permeability and natural colour.

Recycled 20mm Roadbase is a crushed rock alternative made from recycled concrete and masonry, offering the same reliable compaction performance as virgin crushed rock at a lower cost.

20mm Roadbase is a crushed rock product blended with fines for excellent compaction, making it the standard choice for driveways, under-slab preparation and sub-base work across Melbourne properties.
