Is Bulk Cheaper Than Bags?
For anything beyond a pot or two, yes — substantially. A cubic metre of mulch is roughly equivalent to forty 25-litre bags. Buying that volume bagged from a hardware store will cost you several times the bulk price, plus the trips to get it home and the pile of empty plastic afterwards. The rough crossover point is around half a cubic metre; beyond that, bulk wins every time.
