About Us
Build Your Project
Tell us what you are building and how big the area is, and we will work out the whole build for you — every layer, how many cubic metres of each material, how many truck loads that is, and what it costs delivered to your postcode.
Driveway or paving
Three layers, and only the top one is decorative. Crushed Rock Class 2 20mm as a compacted sub-base at 100–150 mm, Packing Sand screeded flat at 25–30 mm, then your surface — Tuscan Toppings or pavers — at 25–50 mm. Pavers that sink or lift after a year almost always have the same cause, and it is not the pavers. What goes under your pavers, and how much of it.
Path or walkway
A gravel path looks like one material. It is two, in two layers, and the one you cannot see does all the work: Crushed Rock Class 3 20mm at 75–100 mm, topped with Granitic Sand at 25–50 mm. Building a compacted gravel path that lasts.
Garden bed
Build the bed up rather than digging it out — most Melbourne gardens are working over clay that holds water through winter and sets hard by February. Premium Garden Soil at 50–120 mm, then Pine Garden Mulch at 70–100 mm. When to mulch, how deep, and how often to top up.
How we work out the quantities
Volume is area × depth, plus a 10% buffer for spillage, compaction and uneven ground, rounded up to whole cubic metres — the way we sell them. Delivery is charged per truck load, up to 8 m³ a load, and because materials are tipped they cannot share a tray: a three-material build is three delivery charges. Topping any one material up to a full load costs you no extra freight.
