Bulk materials delivered across Sunshine

Sunshine was laid out around a farm-machinery works, and the street pattern still shows it: generous post-war blocks, wide roads built for trucks, and a belt of old industrial land along the rail line. Those big blocks are the story now, because a great many of them are being split into two, and every one of those splits needs a garden built from nothing.

It is a Zone 1 postcode close to the yard, so we run it seven days a week and an order placed before 3pm is usually delivered the next day.

Soil & site conditions

This is the western basalt plain at its flattest. The ground is a grey-brown clay that turns greasy after a wet week and cracks open by late summer, with bluestone floaters near the surface in places — enough to stop a shovel and to matter when you are digging footings for a wall. On an established block there is usually a workable topsoil layer over it. On the rear half of a freshly subdivided lot there is not: excavators, a new slab and a season of traffic leave compacted subsoil, and the honest fix is to import depth rather than try to rehabilitate it.

Truck access in Sunshine

Access in Sunshine is about as good as it gets in the inner west — wide streets, generous driveways and room to tip without blocking traffic, which is a genuine relief after Footscray. The standard requirements still hold: about 3.5 m clear to the drop, firm level ground for the tray and nothing low overhead. The one caution is the subdivided blocks. Rear units are reached down a shared driveway that is usually too narrow for a truck, so the load lands at the front and gets barrowed, and a new concrete drive should not be tracked over with a full tipper.

Sunshine delivery questions

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
