Bulk materials delivered across Box Hill
Box Hill has two speeds. Within a few streets of the station it is towers, cranes and hoarding, and the gardens are courtyards, podium beds and narrow strips between townhouses. Walk ten minutes out and it is 1950s and 60s houses on solid blocks with camellias older than the owners. The order sizes differ by an order of magnitude and so does the delivery.Box Hill is Zone 1 on our eastern run. We deliver seven days a week, and an order placed before 3pm is usually on the ground the next day.
Soil & site conditions
The ground here is weathered Silurian mudstone — a brown clay loam over stiff yellow clay that drains slowly and compacts easily under foot traffic. The established gardens have reasonable depth built up over decades. On a redevelopment site you have the opposite: the old house footprint, a slab's worth of rubble and compacted fill, and no growing medium at all. Use a free-draining aggregate under paving and behind any wall, and import the mix for beds rather than digging into what a demolition left behind. Where a mature tree has been kept on a redevelopment site, keep new soil off the trunk and clear of the root zone — that is the commonest way a new garden kills the one thing on the block worth keeping.Truck access in Box Hill
The centre is the hard part. Whitehorse Road and Station Street carry clearway restrictions and construction traffic, several sites have hoarding to the kerb, and apartment parking is basement-only — a loaded tipper cannot get down there, so the drop is at street level and the material is moved by hand from there. Behind the townhouse developments the driveways are shared and often too tight to enter. In the residential streets further out access is ordinary, with the usual clearance of about 3.5 m and firm level ground to tip on.What Box Hill gardens usually order

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
