Bulk materials delivered across Croydon

Croydon is the last of the flat before the ranges. The southern end of the postcode sits on the plain with 1960s and 70s houses on generous blocks; the northern end climbs into Croydon Hills and Croydon North, where the streets curve up the rises and the gardens start behaving like hills gardens.

The whole postcode is Zone 2 and the same flat per-load rate applies at both ends, hill or flat. Our trucks are out seven days a week, and material ordered before the 3pm cut-off is generally on site the next day.

Soil & site conditions

The soil is an orange-brown clay loam over stiff clay, weathered from the mudstone that runs under this whole side of the city. It is better growing ground than the basalt clays west of the city and it holds nutrient reasonably well, but it moves water sideways rather than down — which is why the low corner of a Croydon back yard is often the wet one no matter what you do to the rest. On the hills the profile thins and gets stonier, and mulch matters more there than mix; on the flat, depth in the beds is the better investment.

Truck access in Croydon

On the flat this is easy work — wide streets, decent driveways, room to tip. In Croydon Hills and Croydon North the roads curve and climb, several driveways are steep enough that we will tip at the top rather than take a loaded truck down, and the mature planting on the older blocks brings the canopy low over some frontages. As always we need roughly 3.5 m clear to the drop, firm level ground and clear height. Tell us which end of the postcode you are in and we will plan accordingly.

Croydon delivery questions

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
