Bulk materials delivered across Highton

Postcode 3216 is the biggest slice of residential Geelong we deliver to — Highton on the ridge above the Barwon, Belmont and Grovedale on the flat below it, and Waurn Ponds and Wandana Heights climbing back out to the west. Between the established streets and the newer estates on the southern edge, it covers about as much garden-building as the rest of Geelong combined.

It sits in Zone 3. We deliver seven days a week and confirm a delivery window when the order is placed, rather than promising a next-morning drop on a run this long.

Soil & site conditions

The Barrabool Hills country behind Highton gives a red-brown clay loam over heavy clay — good soil that holds water and sets hard when it dries. Toward the river escarpment it thins over sandstone and the slopes shed water fast; down on the Belmont and Grovedale flats it is deeper and slower to drain. The practical version: on the ridge and the escarpment, build depth and hold water with mulch; on the flats, raise the beds and give the water somewhere to go rather than digging in and hoping. The newer estates on the southern edge add the usual third problem: what is left at the surface after a build is compacted fill, not topsoil, and it needs importing over rather than improving.

Truck access in Highton

The streets running down toward the Barwon are steep and some of the driveways off them are steeper — on those we tip at the top of the drive rather than take a loaded truck down and hope to get it out. Away from the escarpment, Belmont, Grovedale and Waurn Ponds are flat and easy, with wide streets and standard driveways. As everywhere, we need about 3.5 m of clear width, firm level ground to tip on and nothing low overhead.

Highton delivery questions

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
