Bulk materials delivered across Mernda

Mernda and Doreen share 3754, at the top of the Plenty River valley. Most of the housing here is younger than the trees around it, and the orders reflect that: front yards being finished to a builder's deadline, back yards that have never had a garden in them, and retaining work on lots that were cut into a slope rather than levelled.

It is the northern end of Zone 2, on the same run as Whittlesea and Diamond Creek. We deliver seven days a week, and an order placed before 3pm is usually delivered the next day.

Soil & site conditions

The valley mixes two things. On the rises it is weathered siltstone — a shallow brown clay loam over stiff clay, stony in places. Down toward the Plenty River and the creek flats it is alluvial and deeper, but slow to drain and inclined to stay soggy through winter. On a new estate block neither of those is what you actually get: the surface is cut-and-fill subsoil compacted by machinery, so import the growing medium, build beds up rather than digging them in, and put crushed rock where you need something that will not turn to mud.

Truck access in Mernda

Estate streets are wide, but a lot of 3754 is still finishing: trade vehicles parked through the working day, new kerbs and crossovers that crack under a loaded tipper, and the occasional open service trench. We will tip on the road or at the driveway apron in preference to driving onto anything freshly poured. Where a lot has been cut into the slope, check the fall between the kerb and the drop point before ordering — a barrow run uphill is a different job from a flat one, and it changes how much you can move in an afternoon.

Mernda delivery questions

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
