Bulk materials delivered across Mount Martha

Mount Martha is built on a granite hill that falls to the bay, and the gradient decides everything: what grows, what washes away, and where a truck can actually put a load. Blocks are large and treed, the houses are increasingly rebuilds rather than the original beach shacks, and terracing and erosion control come up in more conversations here than anywhere else on our runs.

It is Zone 3, on the Peninsula run past Mornington. We deliver seven days a week and confirm a delivery window when the order is placed rather than promising a next-morning drop, which also gives us a chance to talk through access before the truck is loaded.

Soil & site conditions

The hill is granodiorite, and the soil that comes off it is a coarse, gritty sandy loam — easy to dig, quick to drain, and very quick to move downhill once it is bare. On a slope that means erosion is the main risk to a new bed: rain will take the top of it into the gutter before anything has rooted. A heavy, coarse mulch laid thick holds the surface far better than a fine one, and terracing with a free-draining backfill turns a slope that sheds everything into ground that keeps what you put on it.

Truck access in Mount Martha

This is the most access-constrained suburb on the Peninsula run and the one where a phone call before ordering saves the most trouble. The roads are steep, narrow and winding, with tight bends, overhanging vegetation and very little room to stand a truck on a slope. A good number of driveways are simply too steep or too narrow for a loaded tipper, in which case the load goes at the top of the drive or in the nearest place the truck can safely stand. Tell us what the frontage looks like and we will tell you honestly what we can do.

Mount Martha delivery questions

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
