Bulk materials delivered across Rye
Rye has the deepest sand on our whole network. The dunes here run back a long way from the front beach, the tea-tree that holds them is the local vegetation for good reason, and anything planted into raw dune sand without preparation is on a short clock. It is also a town whose population multiplies over summer, which changes the delivery as much as the gardening.Rye is Zone 3, at the far end of the Peninsula run. We come down seven days a week and confirm a delivery window with you when the order is placed rather than quoting a next-morning time we could not reliably keep.
Soil & site conditions
Deep pale sand, structureless, with almost nothing in the way of organic matter until somebody puts it there. Water runs through in minutes, nutrient goes with it, and the wind off the back beach adds salt on the southern side of the postcode. The only approach that works is volume: a generous depth of garden mix worked right through a bed rather than spread on top, mulched heavily, and topped up again in a year or two as it breaks down. Pebble holds a path where sand and bark both migrate.Truck access in Rye
Two things define delivery here. The first is the sand itself: verges, unsealed drives and even some side streets will not carry a loaded truck, particularly after rain, and a bogged tipper on a sandy shoulder is a bad afternoon for everyone. We will tip from the sealed road or a firm driveway apron. The second is summer — through January the town is full, the streets near the beaches are parked out and the traffic on Point Nepean Road is slow. Order outside the holidays if you can. What Rye gardens usually order

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
