Bulk materials delivered across Reservoir
Reservoir holds more people than any other suburb in Melbourne, and it is getting denser by the week. The 1950s and 60s houses here sit on blocks just large enough to take two dwellings, and that arithmetic has produced a steady stream of subdivisions — which means two new gardens where there was one old one, both starting from bare ground. It is Zone 1 on our northern run, a short drive from the yard, so this is one of the quicker turnarounds we do. Trucks are out seven days a week; anything ordered by 3pm normally arrives the next day.
Soil & site conditions
Reservoir sits on Merri Creek basalt, and the clay beneath it is dense and dark and slow. Age is what decides how much of that matters. An untouched 1950s back garden usually carries a workable layer built up over seventy years of compost and lawn clippings, and it is worth protecting. A newly subdivided rear lot carries nothing of the sort — the topsoil went out with the excavation and what is left has been driven over by a concrete truck. On those blocks, import the growing medium and put a proper crushed rock base under paths and paving rather than trusting the clay to stay where you put it.Truck access in Reservoir
Reservoir is easier than the suburbs immediately south of it: the streets are wider, there is more kerb space, and the driveways were built when cars were parked in them rather than in front of them. The recurring difficulty is the rear dwelling on a subdivided block, reached by a long shared driveway too narrow for a tipper — expect the load at the front and a barrow run past the front unit, and check with the neighbour before delivery day. New concrete crossovers should not be driven over with a full load. What Reservoir gardens usually order

What access does your truck need?
Our tip truck needs roughly 3.5 m of clear width, firm ground to reverse on and no low branches or wires over the drop point. If the street or driveway is tighter than that, tell us when you order and we will work out the closest safe spot — usually the nature strip or the top of the driveway.
How soon can you deliver?
Orders placed before 3pm are usually delivered the next day, seven days a week — including a Saturday order delivered Sunday. After 3pm, allow two days. Longer regional runs are booked with a confirmed window rather than a next-day promise.
How much fits in one delivery?
One truck load carries up to 8 cubic metres of a single material. Two different materials always travel as two loads, because they cannot share a tray — so a cart with soil and mulch in it is priced as two deliveries.
